Another Shabbat has Come and Gone

On Friday my flat mate came home with a dog. I think it is a Sheppard-Lab mix or something like that. The dog is about 1 year old, and has been running back and forth between my flat mate and me constantly. He seems to be very well mannered so far, but he does like to steal sandals or gym shoes as they apparently make great toys. AHHH, YES --- the joys of having a puppy around. At least he is housebroken! Training will be fun, as my flat mate says he will train in Hebrew and then uses English. I figure I’ll let him figure out what he really wants to do and then go with that.

In my last post I mentioned scooters and said that I would try to snap a picture of a UPS delivery vehicle. Well, here it is:

I stayed at home this Shabbat and managed to get a LOT of sleep. I am still somewhat exhausted, and feel this is a result of both by hectic schedule and the heat. While the apartment does have air conditioning, my flat mate will not turn it on so all I have is a fan that I bought to cool me off. Very inadequate.

Today (Monday) the class at the Ulpan went on a walking tour of Jerusalem for a little over an hour. I enjoyed myself by NOT going with them and staying in the nice, air-conditioned classroom. We have a test tomorrow, so I used the time to study and chat with one of my classmates that arrived too late to go with (and apparently really didn’t want to go either).

I also have a cantorial class later today, so am spending the afternoon practicing and will spend the evening studying.

  1. We saw those scooters in Greece -- but they were FedEx. It's intering to see how different things are. I'm guessing they are far greener than we are
